SF Exhibition Rules
- All participating clubs must be fully paid up members of the Southern Photographic Federation.
- Prints and Projected Digital Images (PDIs) entered must be entirely the work of the photographer. Composite images are permitted provided all component images meet this requirement. (PAGB wording.)
- No image must have been entered in any previous SF Exhibition in any format.
- No image can be entered that is so similar it can be deemed to be the same image.
- A member shall only represent one club no matter how many clubs they belong to.
- A maximum of three images in any format may be submitted from any one club member with a maximum of two images in any one section i.e two prints, one PDI or one print and two PDIs.
- The number of prints or PDIs that may be submitted by the participating clubs will be decided upon by Council each year.
- The mount must be 50cm x 40cm but there is no minimum print size. All Velcro or any other fixings that may cause damage to other competitors' prints must be removed. Any prints that are over or undersize will be judged but may not be hung in the exhibition.
- Prints must be numbered with sequence viewing order starting top left (lowest number); top right next number; centre left next etc. according to instructions supplied with confirmation of acceptance.
- Projected Digital Images must be in JPEG format; sized to a maximum of
1400 pixels wide by 1050 pixels high, sRGB colourspace.
The required filename format is
[SF club no.][Image no.]_[Title]_[Author+Distinctions].jpg
Example of the first image for club 07: 071_Another Brilliant Sunset_Len Scapoff ABCD EFGHI.jpg - Entries may be of any subject and each entry must be clearly identified with the club, entry number, title, author's name including first name, surname and photographic distinctions. The use of "Untitled" for a title is not acceptable.
- Prints and PDIs will be marked individually. Prints will be judged in club sequence by image number (i.e. All clubs' first image then second, etc.) PDIs will be judged in a random order.
- Images will be marked out of ten points.
- Club positions will be determined by the total number of points scored. In the event of a tie of the highest scores a count back will apply; highest number of 10s, then 9½s, etc.
- There will be awards for the best club entry in prints and best club entry in PDIs.
- There will be an award for the best individual colour print, monochrome print and PDI from those scoring the highest points.
- The Council reserve the right to amend the rules for any specific event and in any dispute the decision of the Council will be final.
- Entries will not be accepted after the closing date as determined by Council. All errant submissions must be resolved by the closing date or the image(s) will be disqualified.
- The SF cannot accept liability for the loss or damage of any image.
- All trophies must be returned by the SF Reps' Meeting in the November following the exhibition.
- All awards will be available for presentation at the official opening of the Exhibition.
- Any breach of these rules may lead to disqualification at the discretion of the Council.
- The Council reserve the right to use PDIs entered into Southern Photographic Federation competitions and Exhibition to produce a presentation CD, show in a web gallery and be considered for any PAGB digital competitions and exhibitions. If an author does not wish for their work to be used in this way it must stated so with their club's entry. The author's copyright will be observed.
