SF League Guidance
Prints
Prints must be mounted and the mounts must not exceed 50cm by 40cm. No indication of the author or club on the front of the print. The judge should not be able see the rear of the print or any other indication of the club, author or exhibition acceptance labels etc. that may influence the scoring.
Print numbers will be your SF Club Number appended with 1 to 8; so for Anywhere CC (whose SF Club Number is 07) they are 071 to 078.
Titles must be supplied in Title Case format; not all in UPPERCASE or lowercase. Authors must include all their distinctions. Any misspellings or missing distinctions will not be corrected and all errors are repeated on scoresheets, web galleries and certificates.
When you email in your titles and authors you must let us have a return postal address to receive the labels for the back of the prints.
Projected Digital Images (PDIs)
JPEG format only, 8-bit, sRGB recommended, both 1400 pixels (wide) x 1050 (high) and 1024 (wide) x 768 (high) resolutions must be provided. Black borders to make an image fit the maximum size are optional.
Filename:
[SF club no.][Image no.]_[Image Title]_[Author+Distinctions].jpg
When Anywhere CC sends in their images, the SF Directory shows that they have SF number 07 so their images will be numbered 071 to 078. The 1400x1050 and 1024x768 versions will have the same filename; so they'll need to be kept separate. Files may be zipped for convenience. You may need to send 2 emails due to email server size limitations. Titles and authors must be supplied in 'Title Case' format as shown below; not all in UPPERCASE or lowercase.

... and so on ...

078_The Eighth Image_Last Author.jpg

Correct filenaming is essential as the filenames are read by unforgiving computers as well as humans. Any misspellings or missing distinctions will not be corrected and all errors are repeated on scoresheets, web galleries and certificates.
When you email in your images you must include a return postal address to receive the CD containing all your division's PDIs.
Test Images
These test images should be used with your projection software just before each match for you and the judge to check the calibration of your projector. Right-click your mouse on the thumbnail and choose 'Save link as...' or 'Save target as...'.

Notes
For complete information read the full SF League Rules.
  1. Hosting a fixture is optional.
  2. Clubs must inform the of their agreed fixture and its judge. A list will be maintained on this website.
  3. Every Print or PDI in a Division is to be judged at all that Division's matches. If competing in any of the Print Divisions, you must make sure that your Prints are taken to every Print fixture in your Division. Prints can be left in the care of other clubs to be transported between fixtures. This is an informal arrangement and even if you cannot attend a fixture it is your responsibility to ensure that the Prints are presented at the right time in the right place.
  4. You will need to confirm dates for the Print fixture with the other clubs in your Division as it is difficult for prints to be in two places at once.
  5. Judges can judge in more than one League or Division but not more than once in the same Division. You may not book a judge who has already been booked by another club for the Division you are in.
  6. Postponed matches can be rearranged but only before the end date of the fixture window.
  7. If you are hosting a match it is more than just a courtesy to remind the judge and, for Print matches, the other competing clubs. A quick 'phone call can save a great deal of disappointment. Contacts can usually be found in the SF Directory. Your club's details are there, aren't they? A contact and mobile phone number for someone at the host club should be provided to all visiting clubs.
  8. Prints and PDIs must be shown in a truly random order. Projection should use photo competition software. Programs such as Adobe Lightroom or Windows Picture & Fax Viewer are unacceptable.
  9. Points will be scored as 7pts for a win, 6pts for second, etc. to last place. In the event of a tie, points will be shared. If there are more than 7 clubs in a League points will be adjusted accordingly.
  10. For each league that you enter you will need 8 images and there must be no more than 2 images from the same author in each league.
  11. The host club must show the largest PDIs appropriate to their projector and images may not be resized. Please make sure that your computer and projector are both set at the projector's native resolution and that you are using images of the same dimensions. Check this well before the match. You'll also need to make sure that you calibrate your projector before the match in appropriate lighting conditions. SF Test images are available on the league guidance page. It's a good idea to become familiar with your projection software.
  12. To assist PDI matches the notes from the 2009 PDI Co-ordinators' meeting are available.
  13. Print and PDI titles must not be read out before judging; they may be read out after the image is scored by agreement with the competing clubs.
  14. Scores must be emailed to . Include in the email a scanned copy of the signed scoresheet.
  15. Unless otherwise specified, the venue is believed to be the normal club meeting location. See the club website or SF Directory for further details.
  16. Your visitors are often travelling a long way on the evening; complimentary refreshments are much appreciated.
  17. At the end of the season the intention is that the two highest placed clubs in each league will be promoted and the two lowest will be relegated. In the event of a tie, preference will be given to the club with the highest number of 10s, 9½s, etc.
  18. Prints must be handled with the utmost care. Gloves should be used at all times. Prints should be displayed on vertical print stands, not flat tables and at no time should drinks or other liquids be brought close to them.
  19. If a replacement set of Print labels or PDI CD is required by a club there will be a charge of £5.
