Public Liability Insurance

Q & A

Question
If the number of club members increases during the Insurance Term does Darwin Clayton have to be informed.

Reply from Darwin Clayton
It depends upon the number of new members involved. If the number has only changed by a few members, then this does not need to be notified (i.e. increases from 25 members to 30). However, if there is a large jump in numbers and the club moves into a new premium bracket, then the increase will need to be notified (i.e. increases from 25 members to 50).

Question
from a club holding an exhibition in a Shopping Mall. Asking if their public liability insurance covers them for the exhibition

Reply from Darwin Clayton.
rm that cover will be applicable, as long as there is someone in attendance to ensure that nothing is stolen/damaged during the exhibitions.

Question

If a club does not have a permanent meeting room but meet at various locations on a regular basis would they be accepted for Public Liability Insurance under the PAGB.

Reply from Darwin Clayton
It is accepted by insurers that all clubs may not have their own meeting place, or meet at the same venue on a regular basis. Therefore, the Public Liability policy does not mention a specific venue, and cover is not an issue.

Question
When a judge or a lecturer from the Southern Federation’s approved list is invited to judge or lecture at a club, other than his own club, whose insurance would he be covered by if he was to cause an accident, (a) the club who invited him (b) his own club (c) The Southern Federation.

Reply from Darwin Clayton
With regards to lecturers/judges, the cover would be provided by their club, rather than the Federation or the inviting club.
